About the story

The good route has actually been written back in 2020 for Brackey's Game Jam. However, I wasn't able to complete the game due to personal reasons.

The real story behind the whole story happened back in 2019, and I wrote a story (a different one, unpublished due to our programmer leaving the team) for it as a way of coping through what happened - the death of my "friend" (I'll be honest and say that he's more of an acquaintance than a friend. He's just my club/orgmate).

I have always wanted to write two versions of the story - the good route and the bad route - in the form of two games. However, I also thought that it would be weird to have two separate games when both stories are portraying the same story, but in a different light. So when I saw the single choice game jam, I saw the opportunity to merge the two stories in one game.

The good route is actually a mix-and-match of several life experiences and how I acted during those times. I dedicate the good route to my friends related to those experiences, and I hope they are in a better place now (no, they're not dead, but you get my point).

On the other hand, the bad route is... well, the reality of what happened after the intro (and yes, the intro is real). I somehow feel guilty to my "friends" (ex-friends) who will be seeing the game's bad route, they'll probably feel guilty - then again, my point is to make them feel guilty. If you think the bad route is bullshit and the characters are crappy, then yes, you are correct.

This has been a good outlet for me to release all my bad feelings about those several life experiences, and especially that big experience of losing my orgmate and all the fiasco that came before and after it. In September, it will be 5 years since his death. I can't say that I have fully moved on, but this is a good step towards it.

About the choices (as you can see from the screenshot), it is on purpose that I put the same choices as I believe the two routes are the two sides of the same coin.

Thank you for reading.
